Anne-Marie Tomchak is Mashable’s UK editor, where she leads the company’s UK site. She previously worked at the BBC and was one of the founders of BBC Trending, which launched in 2013. She is a digital innovator, having developed new, short-form mobile video formats for the BBC News app, and hosted BBC News Facebook Live broadcasts.
Tomchak has a solid track record of producing original journalism. In 2014, she was nominated for a Radio Academy Award for Innovation after breaking a story about the ‘offer’ of illegal drugs on Instagram, which led to a change in policy by the platform. She also broke the world exclusive revealing that the viral ‘Syria Hero Boy’ video was faked.
