Ann O’Dea

Founder and curator, Inspirefest

Our MC Ann O’Dea is CEO and co-founder of Silicon Republic, Europe’s leading technology and innovation news service, reporting online since 2001. As the founder of Inspirefest, which celebrates its fifth birthday in 2019, she is responsible for curating the unique mix of technology, science and the arts on the main stage each year.

Ann is a fellow of the Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology and of the Irish Computer Society. She has been named Media Woman of the Year at the Irish Tatler Women of the Year Awards and, in 2015, she was the first and only woman to be inducted into the Irish Internet Association’s Hall of Fame. In 2017, she won the Outstanding Contribution to the Digital Sector award from ITAG.

Ann sits on the advisory board of Teen-Turn which empowers underrepresented youths through internships in major tech companies. She is a regular speaker and MC at international technology events, with a particular passion for inclusion, economic empowerment, sustainability and biodiversity. In January 2019, she brought Inspirefest to the Startup Impact Summit stage in Hong Kong and she is an ambassador for Hong Kong and Nairobi-based Mettā, the international “club for entrepreneurs”.
