Founder, Trinity Walton Club
Arlene O’Neill is an assistant professor at the School of Physics, Trinity College Dublin (TCD). She has a PhD in physics and a degree in applied physics. Parallel to her academic career, she has continuously engaged in the promotion of science through designing, conducting and evaluating outreach activities. She has also held ambassadorial roles, advocated for girls and women in STEM, and spoken at national and international conferences.
More recently in 2014, she founded Trinity Walton Club, a science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) enrichment programme for second level students at Trinity College Dublin. To date the programme has worked with over 1000 students, and endeavours to facilitate a learning experience that is meaningful and builds attributes, rather than just knowledge.
